Introducing the new Hyundai i30
Bolder and more high- tech, introducing the updated Hyundai i30. Building on the popularity of previous generations, the i30 is a fine hatchback, that's also available in a wagon and fastback body style, too.
When it was launched, the original i30 was celebrated for offerning excellent levels of practicality and reliability while simultaneously representing superb value for money. This mantra continues, and the i30 offers enhacements in style, whilst also offering upgrades in technology see the in-car experience improved, along with the i30 receiving cutting-edge safety features too.
It all adds up to ensure the Hyundai i30 stays as popular as it's always been.
Design and Practicality
Available in three bodystyles; hatchback, fastback and wagon, the i30 boasts a confident stance and more sophisticated overall appearance, with the 'N Line' trim adding to the more dynamic aesthetic, especially.
Regardless of which body of the i30 captures your interest, there's five doors as standard, for maximum convenience, while a number of alloy wheel designs and exterior colours to finish off the handsome aesthetics.
'N Line' models are perfect if you're after an i30 that looks more purposeful. The larger wheels, sportier exterior features and improved aerodynamics are likely to get a second glance from pedestrians as you drive by.
Depending on which bodystyle you go for, boot space ranges between 395 and 602 litres with the seats up, although this grows to between 1,301 and 1,650 litres with the seats folded down.
Technology and Safety
Hyundai have introduced a new 4.2-inch colour LCD instrument cluster, which can be increased to a 10.25-inch fully digital cluster in higher trim levels.
There is also three USB type-C charging points in the front and rear of the i30, witht eh ability of Over-the-Air (OTA) map updates, to ensure your i30 doesn't feel outdated when using the navigation.
And, as for safety, the i30 now comes as standard with more safety features, from the Hyundai Smart Sense range, which includes Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) which helps detech potential accidents. There's also Lane Following Assist (LFA) and Intelligent Speed Limit Assist (ISLA), too.
Parking Distance Warning (PDW) is also standard, and warns of obstacles at low speed.
Engines and Performance
Hyundai has expressed there will be one engine choice with the new Hyundai i30, which is a petrol mild-hybrid set-up.
That chosen engine for the Hyundai i30 is a standard 1.5-litre T-GDi unit, which produces 138bhp, and is enhacned with 48-volt mild hybrid technology for enhanced fuel economy.
It's also worth noting that this engine can be mated to either a 6-speed manual transmission, or if preffered, a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT). Both these transmissions offers a different way of changing gear in the i30, but both are fast and precise, ensuring an enjoyable drive when behind the wheel of the i30.
