Design and Practicality
The EV5 is another dedicated all-electric vehicle in the Kia line-up, following on from the EV6 and EV9 and EV3. Naturally it sits below the EV9 and EV6 in terms of size, whilst offers more space than the EV3.
Styling is similar to that of the larger EV9, being easily identifiable as Kia, with the new sharp design language, with the interior also drawing inspiration from the larger sibling, wiht a spacious, lounge-inspired vibe.
Five doors, five seats and a 513-litre boot space come as standard, with with the ability to create a camping friendly space, thanks to rear folding flat seats - boosting practicality, versatility and of course space to 1,714 litres.
Technology and Safety
Being a dedicated BEV (battery electric vehicle) technology is intuitive and state-of-the-art, with the Kia EV5 receiving the latest infotainment and connectivity technologies Kia has to offer.
Therefore, a sharp 12.3-inch infotainment screen houses all the EV5's relevant settings, with over-the-air updates possible, ensuring the system always feels ulta-modern and up to date. A digital instrument cluster, and climate control display further showcase the digital and technological presentation.
And as for safety, there's many driver assistance features available on the EV5, such as Highway Driving Assist 2 and Remote Parking Assist 2 meaning driving the EV5 is as pleasurable as it safe.
Engines and Performance
Kia EV5 will have three variants in the form of a standard range, long range and long range AWD (all-wheel drive), as the former pair are front-wheel drive.
This means there will be a 64kWh version (with 329-mile range), a 88kWh version (447-mile range), whilst the all-wheel drive is uses the same 88kWh battery, but offers a 404-mile range.
This should mean there is a breadth of performance available, to suit multiple lifestyles and preferences, with no word on exact performance figures as of yet, but with electric performance, we can't imagine the EV5 being slow, and will update when figures are available.
Charging
The Kia EV5 can conveintently fit into your lifestyle thanks to the capability of fast charging. This means that the EV5's battery can be charged from 30 percent to 80 percent in just 27 minutes.
And, with an advanced heat pump system within the EV5, the battery is able to perform reliably, even in extreme weather, ensuring the Kia EV5 can be used without worry in each season.
