The Skoda Citigo is a small and chirpy city car that is suitable for getting around urban areas in a peppy fashion. As the smallest vehicle in the Skoda fleet, the Citigo sits underneath the larger Fabia and Scala models.

Engines and Driving Experience
A simple choice between two 3-cylinder petrol engines is present when browsing the Skoda Citigo used car listings. You could get either 59 or 74bhp, both are capable of achieving upwards of 50mpg, reducing trips to the petrol station.
They do require working slightly harder due to the size of the small engines, but they definitely feel more pokey than their official 0 to 62mph times of 14.4 seconds with 59bhp or 13.2 seconds with 74bhp. The engines can be fairly noisy when pushed, but for the most part the Citigo offers a refined and comfortable experience.
In 2019, Skoda brought an electric version of the Citigo to the UK market; The Skoda Citigo-e iV but production only lasted a year, being axed in 2020. Used examples can be found, but they're harder to attain than the petrol variants.
Practicality and Running Costs
Most surprisingly, the Citigo has enough space to compete with some vehicles in the larger supermini class. A number of useful storage compartments can be found, along with a roomy boot capacity of 251 litres in its standard setup. If you're carrying larger pieces of luggage, dropping the rear seats provides a substantial increase to around 950 litres.
Both 5-door and 3-door variants can be found on the used market. The 5-door makes life easier for adults travelling in the rear of the car and provides easier access to the ISOFIX mounting points on the rear seats. But if you're not going to be more than two people deep on a regular basis, the 3-door setup possesses sleeker looks.

When it comes to interior, a typical solid and ergonomic Skoda cabin can be found on entry-level models, but opting for a higher specification, such as the Monte Carlo, provides more stylish design features and colourful accents.

Examples that were built before 2017 provide a dashtop mounted sat-nav, but post-2017 examples possess a smartphone mount instead, where the driver can use their smartphone as a navigation system through use of an official Skoda mobile app.
Not only does the Citigo offer a number of handy gadgets, it's also a safe vehicle as well. Equipment such as speed assistance and lane assist systems help to ensure the safe passage of its occupants from A to B.
Is the Skoda Citigo right for me?
The Skoda Citigo is a great all-round city car that can stylishly cut about town and comfortably tackle the motorway.
The Volkswagen up! and SEAT Mii are based off of the same underpinnings but provide slightly different styling cues, so they're worth considering if you're impressed by the Skoda Citigo. Other small city cars such as the Citroën C1 and Peugeot 108 are more futuristically styled and offer something different to the usual boxy city car aesthetics.
